If you're single and not loving it so much, then you probably have the same concerns as everybody else in such a position, whether or not you're handicapped. However, there is added stress and unique fears that those who are disabled and dating face every day and they can be utterly overwhelming. You could say, the disabled operate in a special dating world, one that for the most part resembles any other but in some ways, can be a lot more frightening.

So, what is one of the top concerns that a disabled single might have? The fear of being alone usually rises to the top. Now, all of us often have fears about living a life without a companion. Typically, a person feels they need the love and support of a significant other so that their life is fulfilling and meaningful. However, a disabled person may not need simply emotional support, but a literal helping hand too. Living with family or relatives or with caretakers on call or near by can alleviate some of these fears, but it's typically the hope of a handicapped person that they will have a loving shoulder to lean on throughout their years on this earth. And this desire seems a lot more practical than that of those who don't have disabilities. Who will help me get out of my chair? Who will remind me to take my medication? There are a slew of questions just like these that a disabled single might nervously ponder.

So, if you're a disabled person who is interested in dating online, know that you are not alone and you can find you're true love! It's important to not have your self-image be determined by what others think of you and it's also important to achieve as much independence as you can, but that doesn't mean you have to give up on love and romance. Dating is scary for everyone, but it doesn't have to be scarier for you because you have physical limitations.

There might be physical limitations you have to deal with daily, but don't limit yourself emotionally on top of that. Don't approach the dating world with fears that you will be rejected and live out the rest of your life alone. Instead, have faith that you will meet a companion with the right attitude and you will give them the comfort and love they need as well.
