Dating can be a lot like physics, only people like to make it more complicated—like a soap opera. The truth, when the drama boils out however is that melodramatic pretenses of being swept off your feet by Carlos de La Vega or taking a bullet for Rosalinda Martinelli never really did anyone any good---at least not when it's shown on ABC.

Mature Dating with the Art of Velocity
Real dating, mature dating has more dimension that flat soap opera type romances. Compare this “need for dimension or additional factors to your typical equation for speed. Perhaps you remember this equation from algebra class: Speed (represented by “s”) is equal to your rate multiplied by the amount of time you remain at that rate (i.e. S=r*t). So you can drive and you can drive fast. You can even brag to your friends that you drove 100 kilometers/hr. And that's impressive but it doesn't tell them in what direction you were going in and that is where a vector comes in handy. You see, a vector is not only the admeasurement of rate and time but also factors in the direction you are going. Mature dating is like a vector. You have to factor in the direction you are going or it's not likely you will ever achieve much in the mature dating department. Remember, the secret ingredient to mature dating is direction.

Ready for mature dating? Watch Your Angle and Your Aim
Take a pilot for example. When a pilot flies on a given course he has to plan more than his speed and the time in which he will remain at that speed. He has to consider the direction or the course that he will take. When you are ready for mature dating you also have to consider your direction. Where are you headed? Are you headed for a future of falsely won ease, a lack of education, possibly prison? Where are you going? Remember that mature dating (the best type of dating) is the type of dating you can have if you are headed in the right direction.

Velocity is NOT a Scalar Quantity: Neither is Mature Dating
Velocity, like mature dating, is not a scalar quantity. When I say a scalar quantity I refer to a quantity that can be useful with a simple admeasurement. For instance, if there is a meteorologist and she says to her audience that tomorrow will waste us away at a boiling temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, you can easily put that information to good use because temperature is a simple scalar quality or a quality that can be symbolized by one number. You can for instance determine by that the meteorologist's scalar 39 that you won't be wearing more than a T-shirt and shorts tomorrow! However, let's imagine that you are assigned as one of the employees who mans the air control tower at your nearby airport. He or she may receive reports from a pilot but what if a pilot simply reports his rate of entry and the fact that he would like to land? Considering that there are five additional planes that would also like to land wouldn't you like to know his direction of entry as well? Of course you would. In some aspects of life decisions aren't determined by scalar, bipolar qualities of hot or by cold but instead are determined by various dimensions.....just like mature dating.

So what are the dimensions that you need to add to your mature dating life?
When you decide to add new dimensions to your mature dating life, consider the following:

1) Mature Dating: Your Current Direction will Influence Your “Couple Direction”
Even if you decide to take drastic life-changing actions (i.e. Giving up alcohol, joining a new religion, abandoning family) when you develop a serious relationship it is important to remember that the direction (i.e. Your thoughts, actions, decisions, etc.) will determine the direction that you take with your partner which will in turn influence the rate, timing and speed of your relationship as well.

2) Mature Dating: The Planning Stage
Many people, including myself, do not enjoy making projections. Why? Because projections are difficult to make without the right information. However, even if you can't foresee the future of your relationship, it's still okay to make projections and decide in what direction you would like to go. These goals will often motivate you to be disciplined and you will likely end up in a situation that you can be proud of even if it's not exactly what you may have predicted.

3) Mature Dating: Finding a Greater Purpose
A sense of direction often follows a desire to be a part of, or be an asset to a cause that is GIGANTIC. Some people feel this great purpose when they become parents. Others feel a greater purpose when they work towards a career that they have dreamed of for a lifetime. Whatever you do, find a greater purpose in your own life and find more fulfillment in mature dating, serious relationships and marriage.
